Instead of green beer this St. Paddy’s Day, Drink this! Spring Fling Green Smoothie

Greetings Lads & Lasses! On a very windy and sunny March day, this creation was born while the cardinals sang outside my window. Its easy to make, super yummy and a powerhouse of nutrition! The color is a beautiful green and much better for you than green beer or a shamrock shake-lol- plus you will feel great. (Not knocking the green beer cuz I've drank it before back in the day! ;) ) The baby spinach is more mellow while lending a host of vitamins & minerals and the kiwi is packed with vitamin C, which helps aid iron absorption from the spinach. Hemp seeds are also amazing- for they are high in phytonutrients and contain all the essential amino acids, known as a complete protein. In addition they are high in omega fatty acids (3 & 6), protein, vitamin E, potassium and magnesium. Nice!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to those of you whom are Irish or of Irish ancestry! Cheers to new beginnings this Spring and wishing you all abundance, love, peace & endless blessings Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ

Spring Fling Green Smoothie

1 large frozen banana

1 Cup water

About 3 cups baby spinach (for me this was about 4 big handfuls)

2 kiwi, sliced and peel removed

1 scoop protein powder or 2 tbsp. hemp protein powder

1 Tbsp. hemp seeds

dash of cinnamon (optional)

Toss all in the blender, blend and enjoy! Start with the banana and water, then add the rest bit by bit... If its too thick just add a little more water.

Tips: *If you don’t have a frozen banana, just use a fresh one and some ice

*Use shelled hemp seeds (also called hemp hearts) They blend very well

*Peel ripe bananas and store them in the freezer for using in smoothies or raw ice cream J

*For protein powder, my favorite is Sun Warrior rice protein powder. Find it on Amazon.com
